Financial Spreading Process - Creating a Mapping

When a financial statement for an institution’s client is submitted to Balenz Spreading Automation for the first time, a credit analyst creates a mapping of the individual financial statement data elements to their spreading software, such as Moody’s KMV RiskAnalyst. The credit analyst is in complete control of how the financial statement data is mapped and uses the same expertise that they would have used via the old manual data entry method.

The magic of Balenz Spreading Automation is that the mapping created by the credit analyst for the first financial statement spread will be reused over and over again for all subsequent financial statements received from that client. After the initial mapping is created, future financial statements will automatically use the mapping to start the spreading process. Using a patented process, Balenz Spreading Automation highlights to the user where the content and/or format of the new financial statements has changed, thereby eliminating the need to recreate the entire mapping from scratch. After the changes are reviewed and accepted by the credit analyst, Balenz Spreading Automation completes the spreading process with the click of one button.
